Investment in Virata Corporation (now known as Conexant Systems)

ARC initially invested in Advanced Telecommunications Modules Ltd (“ATML”) in a seed funding round in September 1994. Later the same year, ARC was retained by the Company to complete a private equity placement of over $11 million including ARC’s own investment. The placement was believed to be the largest US Venture Capital equity financing in the UK to that time.

ATML became known as Virata Corporation in February 1998. In October 2001, Virata merged to form GlobeSpan Virata Inc and in November 2003, GlobeSpan Virata Inc merged into Conexant Systems Inc. Today Conexant Systems is a Company trading on NASDAQ with ticker CNXT.

Conexant Systems Inc. is a provider of semiconductor solutions for broadband communications for the digital home.

The company offers a wide range of products and services including:

  3. Set-top Box Solutions including Satellite, Cable and Terrestrial

The investment in Virata was realised in December 2000.
